Why The Gps Can Not Find Signals?
Sometimes, we might came across this situation. We’ve put GPS map inside the sd card, and set up the antenna. All work well except the GPS can not get position. Why does it happen? There are a couple of causes.
First, the problem may caused by GPS software. As far as I know, most of GPS maps can search for the right COM port, and baud of the car navigation, but other maps, like Route 66 can not find the right COM port and baud automatically. Therefore, you have to set up manually.
Second, the problem might be caused by the weather or position you are standing. As we all know, the car GPS have to receive signals of four satellites to locate a position. Sometimes, when their is dense fog, or the position is in a remote aera, you may not possibly get position.
Third, it may happen because of the defective car gps unit. As a techman in Foxsense, we are required to test strickly car navigation function before sending the orders, but not all company will do that due to the restriction of technology, manpower and material resources. I know lots of companies, or let’s call it shop, they don’t care about the quality, neither the performance. Their ultimate purpose is to sell the products to others, after that, it’s none of their concerns. Somehow, it is one of the reasons why we Chinese good have a bad reputation worldwide. If you have a defective gps unit, you have to return it for warranty.
